Within this article, we'll go over the following Zaps:

Send a Message to a New Chat in TimelinesAI when there's a New Abandoned Cart in Shopify.
Send A Message to a New Chat in TimelinesAI whenever there's a New Paid Order in Shopify.

We consider these to be basic Zaps that you can use within your workspace, however, we hope that after reading this article, you'll be able to create more WhatsApp/Shopify Zaps, based on your specific use case. Additionally, we'll provide Zap Templates for you to use, at the end of this article.


Send a (WhatsApp)Message to a New Chat in TimelinesAI when A New Abandoned Cart in Shopify



Step #1: Create a New Zap


Log into Zapier and then create a Zap by adding the information required in the respective fields like this:



Once you are done, click on “Try it”.

* Note: If you haven't done it already, Zapier will ask your permission to access information from your Shopify account. You'll notice a new window will open here, which will look like this:



Enter your Shopify username in the required field, and you will connect your Shopify account. Once you approve it, Zapier will proceed and gather data from your account.

You must also integrate TimelinesAI with Zapier. You can follow these quick steps, in order to have everything set for this and future Zaps that you create:

Go to TimelinesAI and click on the "Zapier" section
Make sure to click on the "Generate new token" button. This will provide you with a token that Zapier will require, to integrate with your TimelinesAI account:

Make sure to click on that token, so it can be copied to your clipboard

Then, go back to Zapier and continue the process by pasting that token into this text box:

This will allow Zapier to load your WhatsApp account - make sure to select your account there and then, click on "Next"

Step #2: Editing the Trigger


In this step, you need to choose your Shopify account and set up how many hours old must abandon carts be triggered this Zap:



Step #3: Editing the Action


Zapier will ask you for information about the message that you'll be sending. The information that you’ll enter here are variables that will be preloaded from your Shopify account:



When you click on the “Phone number” field, Zapier will provide you with variables, which will have an example beside them.

The “Message text” is where you’ll write the message that you want to send to people. You may add more variables depending on your intended message. Once you are done with the fields above, you may proceed by clicking on “Next”.

Step #4: Testing your Zap




Once you click on “Test action”, Zapier will send an automated message that will be visible on TimelinesAI and WhatsApp accounts.

After you have confirmed that the message was sent, you may go back to Zapier and proceed to the last step by clicking on “Next”. This will take you to a section where you can double-check the details you just entered here, and then you may turn this Zap on.

Step #1: Create a New Zap


Log into Zapier and then create a Zap by adding the information required in the respective fields like this:



Once you are done, click on “Try it”.

Step #2: Editing the Trigger


Here you'll be able to edit the trigger, by completing the following elements:

Choose account: You'll be able to select your Shopify account here
Set up trigger: This section will allow you to define your trigger's criteria; the fields here can be edited according to your needs - we'll provide an example on how you can set this on your end, based on this template we're creating:

Payment Status: Any
Order Status: Open
Fulfillment Status: Any

Once you click on "Continue", Zapier will load one of your new paid orders, which will be used for testing this Zap. You may proceed by clicking on "Continue".

Step #3: Editing the Action


After selecting your TimelinesAI account, you'll be able to set up the action, which in this case, is the message that you'll be sending. The WhatsApp account field requires your own WhatsApp account, which should be available when you click on its respective drop-down box.

The information that you’ll enter here are variables that will be preloaded from your Shopify account:

Step #4: Testing your Zap



Once you click on “Test action”, Zapier will send an automated message that will be visible on TimelinesAI and WhatsApp.

After you have confirmed that the message was sent, you may go back to Zapier and publish your Zap.
