This article covers the most common issues users run into with the TimelinesAI ↔ GoHighLevel integration and how to fix them.
For setup steps, see TimelinesAI and GoHighLevel Integration.
Connection not completing
If installing or connecting doesn't finish successfully:
Confirm you're signing in with the correct TimelinesAI account — if your team has multiple workspaces, make sure you pick the one with the WhatsApp number you intend to use.
Confirm the TimelinesAI workspace actually has a WhatsApp number connected. The integration can't complete setup without one.
If the install link has expired or you're re-running an interrupted install, close the tab and click Install again from the Marketplace rather than reusing an old link.
If the connection still won't complete, uninstall the app from the sub-account and reinstall from the Marketplace.
Inbound WhatsApp messages aren't showing up as notes
Check that the integration still shows Connected in the app settings — a disconnected integration stops syncing silently.
Confirm the message was sent to the WhatsApp number connected to this sub-account, not a different number in your TimelinesAI workspace.
Check the contact's phone number format. Matching relies on E.164 format (for example,
+14155550123); numbers stored without a country code or in local formatting won't match, and a new contact may be created instead of matching an existing one.
A new contact wasn't created for an unknown number
New-contact creation is automatic and on by default for this integration — if it's not happening, confirm the integration is still connected and that the inbound number matches your connected WhatsApp number. If the issue persists, contact support.
The "Send WhatsApp via TimelinesAI" workflow action isn't sending
Confirm the contact has a valid phone number on their record — the action can't send without one.
Confirm the sender number selected in the action is still connected and active in your TimelinesAI workspace.
Check that your TimelinesAI plan has available messaging credits — sending is metered by your TimelinesAI plan, not by GHL.
Check the workflow's execution log for the specific error returned by the action.
Uninstalling / disconnecting
Uninstalling the app from your GHL sub-account's app list disconnects the integration. [CONFIRM: any manual cleanup needed on the TimelinesAI side after uninstall, e.g. does the workspace's GHL connection need to be removed separately?]
