What this integration does
TimelinesAI brings your team's WhatsApp conversations into Attio. Inbound WhatsApp messages are matched to a person by phone number and saved as a note; outbound messages can be sent by adding a person to a list or with the in-record Send WhatsApp action — without leaving Attio.
Before you start
A TimelinesAI workspace with at least one connected WhatsApp number, and your team has access.
Admin permission in your Attio workspace (needed to install apps).
Install
Open the TimelinesAI: WhatsApp Integration listing in the Attio App Store and click Install.
Approve the connection on the consent screen.
On install, the app automatically:
creates the Send WhatsApp list,
adds the WhatsApp Phone and WhatsApp Message attributes to the people object,
registers a secure webhook.
There is nothing to wire up by hand.
Send a WhatsApp message
From a record: open a person, press Cmd/Ctrl + K, type Send WhatsApp, pick the action, choose your From-number, write the message, and Send.
From a list: add a person to the Send WhatsApp list with a phone number and a message. The message is sent from your connected number and recorded as a WhatsApp Out note; the entry is then removed from the list.
How inbound matching works
When someone messages a connected number, the app finds the matching person by phone number (creating one if there is no match) and adds a WhatsApp In note. Duplicate deliveries are ignored, and an existing person is reused — so you never get duplicate people or notes. If two people are merged, the WhatsApp notes are re-parented onto the surviving record.
Disconnect
Open the app's settings page and disconnect. This removes the webhook and the data the app created.
