How to Find a Specific Message in a Chat

When working with many conversations, it’s easy to lose track of a specific message. To help you quickly locate important details, TimelinesAI provides an easy-to-use search bar at the top of the chat view.

You can search for messages both in individual chats and in group chats. This makes it simple to track down important information, whether it’s from a single client or a busy team discussion.

There are two main ways to search within your chats:

1. Search by Message Content

If you remember a particular word, phrase, or detail from the conversation, use the “Search by messages” option.

  • Enter the keyword or phrase into the search bar.
  • TimelinesAI will display all the instances where this message or keyword appears across your chats.
  • Clicking on a result will take you directly to the message within the conversation.

This option is especially useful when you need to reference a past agreement, confirm specific details, or revisit instructions shared in a chat.

2. Filter by Chat Name or Phone Number

If you know who you were chatting with, you can use the filter option:

  • Enter the contact’s name or phone number in the search bar.
  • This will narrow down your chat list and display only the conversations with that specific contact.

This method is helpful when you’re not sure of the exact wording of a message but know the sender or recipient.

Best Practices

  • Try using unique keywords that are unlikely to appear in multiple chats.
  • Double-check spelling for better search accuracy.
  • For phone numbers, make sure to use the correct international format (with the +country code).

By combining message search and chat filtering, you can quickly locate the information you need without scrolling endlessly through past conversations.
