WhatsApp and ChatGPT Integration ― Autoresponder for WhatsApp Conversations

TimelinesAI lets you set up a ChatGPT-powered auto-responder for your WhatsApp account without coding or external automation tools. This feature allows you to automate replies to incoming WhatsApp messages efficiently.

You can customize ChatGPT's responses by providing specific instructions in the prompt field. For example, you can include details about your business or adjust how ChatGPT responds to the first message in a conversation versus follow-up messages.

The auto-responder can be activated for specific chats or applied to all new chats, such as messages from new contacts or conversations you start. Once enabled, ChatGPT will automatically generate and send a response for each incoming message in the selected chats.

This functionality helps streamline your WhatsApp communication while ensuring consistent replies based on your instructions.

Let’s get started 🚀

How does it work?

We use ChatGPT's GPT-4o-mini model, which can process up to 4,096 tokens per request. To ensure context-aware and relevant responses, the system includes the 16 most recent WhatsApp messages from the conversation and the prompt.

The auto-responder supports most human languages, but response quality may vary depending on the language. Non-English responses may also use more tokens, which could affect processing limits.

The auto-response is activated 5 seconds after a message is received. This delay allows a human operator to respond manually before ChatGPT generates an automatic reply.

If ChatGPT is temporarily unavailable or under heavy load, the system will retry up to three times to get a response. This process may take up to 10 additional seconds, so there may be a short delay before the reply is sent.

Setup ChatGPT Autoresponder

By setting up the ChatGPT Autoresponder in TimelinesAI, you can automatically reply to incoming messages without any manual effort. This saves time, improves customer experience, and ensures personalized, prompt responses.

Get the API Key from ChatGPT

To enable the ChatGPT Autoresponder in TimelinesAI, you first need to obtain your ChatGPT API Key. This key is essential for connecting ChatGPT’s powerful AI capabilities with your TimelinesAI account.

In this demonstration, we will guide you on how to get the API key from ChatGPT.

Connect ChatGPT API Key with TimelinesAI

By connecting your ChatGPT API Key with TimelinesAI, you can easily integrate ChatGPT’s AI features into your account. This connection enables TimelinesAI to automatically respond to incoming messages using ChatGPT's generative AI. Once set up, this integration helps save time by automating replies, improving communication, and ensuring you never miss important messages.

In this demonstration, you will learn how you can connect the ChatGPT API key with TimelinesAI.

ChatGPT Auto-Response Settings

Before using the ChatGPT’s auto-response settings, you need to be aware of the following settings. So, here are some settings you should know about.

  1. ChatGPT Max Tokens: The word limit refers to the number of words from previous conversations and the current prompt ChatGPT can use to generate a response. It helps ensure accurate and relevant answers.

  1. Chat History Word Limit: You can send a certain number of words from earlier chats to ChatGPT, along with your new question. This is the maximum amount of words that can be included.

  1. Chat History Depth: This setting determines how many previous messages are shown to ChatGPT when it creates a response. It helps ChatGPT understand the conversation better and provide more accurate answers.

  1. Auto-Response Override Delay: This is the time (in seconds) that you have to reply before ChatGPT automatically sends a response. If you don't reply in time, ChatGPT will respond by itself.

  1. ChatGPT Temperature: This setting controls how creative ChatGPT's answers are. A higher number makes responses more different and creative, while a lower number makes them clearer and more focused on the topic.

  1. ChatGPT Top_p: This setting controls how varied ChatGPT's answers are. It picks words based on their chance of being correct, balancing between random, creative responses and more certain, predictable ones.

  1. ChatGPT Frequency Penalty: This setting controls how often specific words appear in ChatGPT's reply. A higher setting makes the response more unique and different, while a lower setting makes it more traditional or common.

  1. ChatGPT Presence Penalty: This setting controls how much repetition occurs in ChatGPT's reply. A higher setting encourages using new words, while a lower setting makes the response repeat certain words more often.
